My only input would be to keep in mind that most of the documentation you see from Dell on Equallogic, particularly configuration guides, is often written with PowerConnect's in mind, especially if the guide goes down to syntax level.
So long as you're using non-blocking switches with low latency and support for things like jumbo frames and flow control you have plenty of choice and odds are it'll all work - for our LeftHand we use HP switches, for our Equallogic we use PowerConnect, I'm sure either could be substituted for the other with little drama. From: Ben N [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 28 June 2011 20:46 To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Opinion on iSCSI switch to use for Equalogic SAN I was thinking of getting a pair of the PowerConnect 7024 switches for our SAN. Has anyone had any good or bad experience with a setup like this? It will only be used for iSCSI. I could go the Juniper or Cicso route, but don't need all those extra features or cost. -Ben ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin -- MIRA Ltd Watling Street, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, CV10 0TU, England Registered in England and Wales No. 402570 VAT Registration GB 100 1464 84 The contents of this e-mail are confidential and are solely for the use of the intended recipient.
