Dear nubus users: I managed to break my gnome installation. KDE is still working. I was installing using the synaptic oackage manager and the system froze toward the end of the install. When I rebooted the user account was fried. When I tried to log in as root in gnome it let me log into an empty desktop saying in several boxes that nothing could start, i.e. menue panel, nautilus etc.
I am going to try and maybe deinstall gnome and reinstall it? What do you think? Thx for any help you can give.
