ok I renamed the gcc kernel to miboot .image and made that the only one in the kernel folder, I also edited yaboot config to reflect 2.4.30 nubis - powermac, but when I booted the screen still reads2.4.27 qs the choice other than the installer.
How do I check in the terminal window which kernel it is using? Do I need to open the miboot img file and place the kernels into there? The System and Finder files may be in a folder of their own, which may be designated bootable with the hfsutils command hattrib, but miBoot looks for all files (config, kernel, initrd) in the root by default.
