What do you mean when you say that it doesn't fit? According to your posts
to debian mailing lists that I just found, your hard disk is 8GB,
which should be plenty for a full Linux install. There should be no
problem with plain PowerPC kernels, as long as you use your chosen
bootloader (BootX, miBoot, quik) properly. Unfortunately, it's not at all
obvious how to do that with recent kernels; however, it's very easy once
you know how. NuBus kernels will NOT work on that machine. Which
distribution would you prefer to install? Debian? Ubuntu? Gentoo?
OpenSUSE? YellowDog? Slackintosh? ArchLinux? CRUX? All of those are
possible, with varying amounts of work and usefulness. I would be glad to
walk you through an installation of your choice. I'm a bit biased toward
the miBoot method of booting OldWorld models such as yours, which takes a
bit more work to set up, but it's probably the most trouble-free solution
currently available.
