You could use this script I wrote
http://www.nukepedia.com/python-scripts/render/im_dontrendernodes/
Just change the name of your node from 'Switch1' to 'dr_Switch1'.
You would have to setup the switch so that when disabled on render time
your script behaves the way you want. in that case the 0 input is piped
through
