The most recent Maya Subscription Advantage Pack for 2012 includes alembic
import/export.  Softimage guys are working on one too which is currently in
beta and the fabric engine guys have one for Soft too(not sure if they are
both the same thing).  Houdini has an exporter but not an importer(importer
planned for v12).

I haven't seen a 3dsmax one yet but if anyone has please let me know.
