Thanks, that was it! Oddly enough both cameras line up perfectly in my scene 
but for some reason the camera from Houdini adds a scale of 0.05 to the 
equation.

you sure you got the correct camera connected to DeepToPoints?
Every time I have trouble with this it turns out the camera I'm using is 
not the same as the one the deep pass was rendered with.
