Speaking as a user and not a foundry employee, this is an across the board
feature of windows. From the late 90's back when Microsoft bought
Softimage and all the dcc apps were ported to windows to now there was
always a 10-15% slowdown on windows. My Maya/houdini/shake/etc... scenes
ran considerably faster with more geo and a smaller memory footprint.

*Foundry employee back on :). Even our recent Modo port to Linux
runs faster and more memory efficient over Windows.
