Hi,

Is there any way to get a 3d object’s shadow out of Nuke’s Scene/ScanlineRender
combo? I am rendering some 3d extruded text (PolyText from the Geometry Tools
plugins) on a wall with a nice soft shadow. Downstream, I’d like to take the 3d
text and its shadow for some additional comping. Is there any way to get the
shadow alpha? Of course this can be handled routinely in a dedicated 3d
program, but I’d like to be able to render the 3d text and shadow + alpha -
without the wall it’s casting a shadow on. I can’t see any feature in Nuke’s
scan line renderer that would allow me to do this… Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rich
