(again, not sure if this belongs in NWAM, GUI logging here for initial
evaluation)


Tetscase;-
1. with system configured with nwam enabled, with Automatic location active
- right click on gnome netstatus applet, select properties
- select checkbox "configure network automatically" so that it is disabled.
- enter root password.

2. svcs -a | grep network/physical
online       17:30:56 svc:/network/physical:default
disabled         17:31:18 svc:/network/physical:nwam
system has successfully switched to manual configuration

ifconfig -a 
shows bge0 up with valid ip address and subnet mask

network settings dialog shows shows the interface bge0 active
interface properties shows a valid IP address, subnet mask and default gateway.

However, it is not possible to ping anything else (includgin default gateway on
the network.
