In trying to solve this, I did exactly this.  But the problem still remains. 
What I have seen is that sometimes none of the wifi networks have a check mark
while other times both wifi networks have a check mark.  The NCUs at this time
are online/up.  I've asked Darren how he determines which if a wifi network
gets a check mark.
