I've fixed this issue again, by setting the menu widget's AtkObject description
to be something like:
MyESSID, Not Connected, Secure, Very Good
Hope that this works better, if not please let me know.
[The menu widget, while custom, is a sub-class of GtkCheckMenuItem, which has
an AtkObject, it's this that we're re-using].
