At this month’s Manchester Girl Geek Tea Party, we celebrate our 1
year anniversary with a Christmas-y potluck and a science & technology
Show & Tell.

The event will be a geeky potluck Show& Tell – bring nibbles and a
geeky 5-10 minutes presentation to share with everyone. Anything goes
– Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, a short presentation
of your work, your research or any exciting hobbies that make you feel
extra special geeky. There may be some Description Logic biscuits, non-
alcoholic mulled wine and an authentic Christmas slideshow looking
back at the best Girl Geek Tea Party moments of the past year,
including cheesy music. Maybe ;)

Don’t worry if you don’t have a presentation – just come along and
join us for some geeky fun anyway!

(“A potluck is a gathering of people where each person or group of
people contributes a dish of food to be shared among the
group.” [Wikipedia])

Who can come along?
Bring along your friends, sisters, mums, daughters, aunties, cousins,
and colleagues, anyone who might be interested. Our aim is to make
subjects like this accessible to all women whatever their background
or experience. If you’d like to come but are of the male variety then
you don’t have to worry, men are always welcome at girl geek events.
There is one condition – you must be invited by or come along with a
lady attending the event.

When?
21st November 2010, 2pm-4pm

(We’ll be at the venue until 4.30, so don’t worry if you have to wait
for trains, buses etc.)

Where?
MadLab, 36-40 Edge Street, Manchester, M4 1HN – in the Northern
Quarter (just opposite the bright green Common bar)
