Plans are afoot. In fact Will, Tekin and I were discussing this very thing on Basecamp a few days ago.
Any suggestions on how we can help you would be fantastic. We (organisers) need to know who is hiring, who is looking, who wants to sponsor and who wants to talk. I've always found that attending the meetups has helped me find work. I've built up relationships with lots of other Rubyists which help for referrals and recommendations.
