Just for clarification, anyone who has taken the first course in database
should be able to take the schema posted in the URL
http://bonnet2.geol.qc.edu/wireless/
and implement it to any desired decent DB. The student will definitely
fail in my class if (s)he could not.
Just for your information, I myself did NOT even implement it, I just take
the abstract layer and perform a forward engineering into Oracle. Of
course, one can do it manually if one chooses to practise and exercises
his/her skill on writing SQL.
As about opensource application, I have no disagreement and indeed have
stated my position in my other earlier posting in response to Bob Kelley's
posting.
Now, the bottom line from the end user perspective, I believe what we want
is a robust system that can serve the community well. I will weigh
providing such service far more important than entertaining agencies like
news media for PR if one of the two has to go.
