Hello Everyone,

         I would currently (until this is improved) avoid combo cards (or
802.11a cards specificially for your laptop) since their power consumption
is almost double of that of 802.11b cards. Unless battery life is not a
concern for you. ;-)

ORiNOCO Cards Power Consumption (from ORiNOCO's website)

                   Modes - Doze / Receiver / Transmit
Silver/Gold               9mA  /  185mA   /   285mA
Combo                   15mA /  320mA   /   560mA

        I'm sticking with my (ORiNOCO, Avaya, Agere, or Lucent) Silver
cards... especially since you can get them for as low as $55 via
pricegrabber.com.
