IMO, SMC sucks. I've used both the old and new revisions of their Barricade Wireless AP/Router/print server (7004AWBR) and have had problems. When I'm transferring large amounts of data from the wireless to the wired segments I *always* somehow throw the router into a tailspin and hang it, requiring me to unplug it and plug it back in. No firmware has yet to fix these problems. This really sucks when I'm trying to upload a game to my Xbox.
I got the SMC router because it was an all-in-one router, switch, AP and Print server. If I had it to do over again, I'd use a Linksys AP/router and the external HP jet Direct box I dug out of the trash at work.
