its just pretty deceiving (to consumers) if it is something in the hardware
which allows this ... if it is the case why even have an "alliance" to begin
with ...

shouldnt that say interoperatable with DLink products only?

i cant rant about it too much since I dont get to play around w/ APs that
much, but from a "standards" viewpoint its a bad thing to have segmented
labels for things - just to end up having frustrated people take stuff home
w/ no hopes of things working right when they should.  Oops ... I forgot
thats what technology is all about :-)
