Thanks.  I'll check that out.

This all makes alot of sense and I thank you for your patience and your
thorough replies.

I called a antenna web site that was linked from the Seattle Wireless site.
They had a 5dbi antenna for appx $69.00 while FAB-Corp has one for appx
$35.00.  They could not explain why their's might be better.  They also
pointed out, however, that increasing the gain on the AP may not be
sufficient if the laptop's wirless card is insufficiently powered too.  They
implied that the AP's antenna might be able to "see" the laptop but the
laptop may be unable to "see" the AP.  Is he just trying to sell me more
hardware or is his point valid?  I would think increasing the range of the AP
should produce a coverage donut that more strongly encompasses the laptop
even if the laptop's card remains the same, no?
