At around 5:50, after a spectacular sunset, my wife and I were walking just south of the tiny marsh (with boardwalk) north of the playing field in Croton Landing when we glimpsed a round-bodied, long-billed bird flying on angled wings into the marsh. It certainly looked like an American Woodcock to us. Have they begun appearing elsewhere yet?
