Don't ever do this. Looks very bad.
Just lodge a claim at your Disputes Tribunal. Which is a fairly straight
forward process, but can be time consuming.
But I doubt you will see your money. I have had two cases of clients not
paying, both of which I won. The first client simply disappeared,
learning me that I always should look up someone's company name in the
company register, and if it doesn't exist there, you probably shouldn't
do business with that person.
Another case will be lodged with the collections unit of the court. Even
though I won the case, client still has not paid, even after being
ordered with the court to do so. And because it's an ltd, I assume the
company has simply no money.
Given my experiences you will win your claim but not see your money. So
you must decide if this is worth your time.
If non-paying clients become an issue, we as a group should perhaps
setup a name and shame page, so people can avoid the directors and these
companies in the future.
BTW: how's Ireland?
