Hi Jochen,

I play an MMO on a casual basis in my spare time (not WoW :P) and when
making arrangements in that environment, many users seem to have become
accustomed to simply using a 24 hour GMT expression. For example, "let's
meet up on Saturday at 1900" and so on.

Most of us there are aware of how many hours ahead of or behind GMT we are
and can convert locally for ourselves. For example, I wouldn't bother
turning up to the above as I like to sleep in on Sunday mornings...

Subject: [phpug] [OT] how to casually arrange for times with other time
zones

Hi all,

for the non-native english speakers here, how do you arrange for a
time or make time suggestions with people in other time zones? I can
always send a meeting invite, but what if I want to use a time more
casually?

I've tried

2pm your time
2pm your time/ 4pm our time
4pm NZDT
2pm/4pm

Which one is best?

Kind Regards,

Jochen Daum
