I think it's good that he wants to develop his own, but he should
study the existing ones first to see how his will be better for his
purpose.

After all, if Rasmus Lerdorf hadn't been impressed by Microsoft's
original ASP and decided he'd reinvent the wheel he wouldn't have
invented Php.

Ditto Richard Stallman with GNU and Linus Torvalds for Linux -- both
reinventing the Unix (R) wheel ... which was, in turn, a partial
reinvention of Multics.
