desktop widget -- that is one of the things that we were/are thinking
of adding at some point

Thanks for the feedback. Projects are one of the things we've been
discussing about making more "first class citizens", but don't have a
finalized plan as of yet.

In the mean time, you can do exactly as you describe: create a task
that represents the project, and you can add multiple tasks to an
entry. You can then report on the project by selecting just that
project from the task selector (in Reports).

We'll definitely take this feedback on board :)
