I used Domain Access in Drupal 5 and it was quite plainly, a headache, although it works. The dev who created the module is very capable, but lacks the human touch. However at Drupal South there was a workshop given on the D6 version, and based on the presentation I would say it has been completely overhauled so that it works almost without a hitch or a headache.
