The documentation seems to be a bit outdated, and I’ll try to update it as soon as possible: https://jackrabbit.apache.org/oak/docs/nodestore/document/mongo-document-store.html I’ve been using Mongo 8 for a while now, always with the latest Oak version, and everything has worked fine. Even the previous Java Driver (3.12) was still compatible with Mongo 8.0, following Mongo’s compatibility matrix as a reference: https://www.mongodb.com/docs/drivers/compatibility/?all-languages=java&java-driver-framework=java-sync Regarding the note in that table: ⊛ *The driver version will work with the MongoDB version, but not all new MongoDB features are supported.* Since Oak doesn’t use any of the new features introduced in MongoDB, this is why the old driver remained compatible. >From Mongo 8.1 onward however, the 3.12 driver will no longer be compatible.
