@orenovadia I've folded your two commits into #3170, with you as author. It combines them with the OSGi fix, #3159 and a new planning-statistics cache, so Adobe can test one build. The only change to your commits is a merge-conflict resolution: `countMatches` keeps your `$searchMeta` path first, followed by #3159's leaner `$count` fallback, and the duplicate `stageCount` helper is dropped from the test. Could you close this PR if that works for you? I also corrected two points of the description in #3170: `total` counts are always exact, since the threshold applies only to `lowerBound`; and a missing index gives `$searchMeta` a count of 0 rather than an error.
