I agree with your concern. The problem is that I couldn't get any of the 4
existing mk impls to work properly with an index that is stored in the
repository, on a larger setup (for example the CQ quickstart).
As soon as those problems get fixed, I'm all for marking this option as
deprecated or not fully supported.
