Thomas Mueller commented on OAK-831:
------------------------------------
For the non-clustered setup, I would really like to have a filesystem based
index as well, unless it's too much work to maintain. Originally, when Jukka
and me discussed the Lucene index, we said the the filesystem implementation
should be easier to implement, because we could just use the default Lucene
settings (without having to implement a Lucene filesystem).
In addition to what Alex wrote, the filesystem based index might help us to get
a better picture about the performance overhead of the datastore (or the other
way around: maybe using the datastore is faster than using the filesystem).

> As an alternative to the existing index which saves the index files in the
> repository, I'm proposing one that uses the file system.
