Whenever someone asks me for advice on bike and component purchase, I like
to know what the bike is to be used for. I then offer my less-than-expert
advice and likely refer him or her to someone else for a more knowledgable
opinion. Obviously a time trial bike and its components are going to be
different from a randonnee bike used for very long distances where you may
be in the saddle for many hours. Likewise, a road racing bike again different.
You have chosen titanium perhaps based on comfort as you intend to ride
long distances. (I'm guessing.) I wouldn't have thought you'd need to add
carbon forks but then I don't ride a ti bike. Wheels come in a wide variety
from lightweight, traditional box rims through carbon fibre deep rims with
differing spoke combinations to disk wheels, the last two types for
aerodynamic improvements (very expensive).

So, over to you Bob for more info. (BTW, what rims and hubs are on the
pre-upgrade Eclipse?)
