I did not get a head count but we had between 15 & 20 cyclist, with three
non-members, one new Penelope Kuster and a father and daughter team visiting
from Australia.
Celebrity night again with the presence of Avery Burdett.
Pat our normal fast leader got a night off while I task Avery with the job
of fast tour leader.
I took the slower group including Penny who did very good for a first time
rider in a group.
She was quite impressed with the team work and could not believe that she
had did 55 km's her longest trip so far.
Route was Riverside Rd. East, Smyth Rd, Russell Rd., Hawthorne Rd., Leitrim
to Farmers Way, Mitch Owen West, CR 27 South to Parkway Rd which becomes
Apple Orchard to Manotick Station Rd., Mitch Owen to Bowsville Rd., Alert
Rd., Uplands Drive, Breadner Rd and Royal Route (Uplands Base) Hunt Club to
Riverside and Riverside to Billings Bridge.
The slower group took a shorter route we turned West on 9th Line (Rideau
Rd.) from Farmers Way to Bowsville Rd. which made our trip 55 Km's long.
The fast group missed the turn onto Parkway and ended up in Metcalfe for a
total of 72 km's.
"Sir James" group made it back to Billings Bridge prior to the fast group
and was able to welcome them back.
It looks like I will have to start cutting back on the total distance as it
is now dark at 8:30 PM.
