I know of people with recumbent *trikes* who ride them in the winter.
Yes, Virginia, you *can* get recumbent tandems too (but they live in
Boston, so the term "winter" is relative :-)

Unlike a child's trike with two wheels at the back, ``high
performance'' trikes have the two wheels at the front so they are both
stable and corner well.
