Thats to bad, dispite the cool weather, there was a very large turn out
at Billings. From what I observrd there was enough riders for all group
catergories, including a large extra-sportif group.

As the late Roy Fowler use to say to me, make sure you keep your head
up.

Not bad for an "old guy", concidering he was with some of the best road
cyclist in the country, some twenty or more years his younger.

James,
What you observed on Rideau and Limebank Rd., with the exception of the
slower group that was in front of Avery, was the riders from the
Extra-sportif group. It is not uncommon in the last part of the ride for
the pace to pick up to a point were riders get expeled from the
peleton(s). This practes is excepted by the Club and thouse who chouse
to ride in this pecticular group. The riders are experince and self
suficent, therfore capable looking after them self individually on the
road. Idealy we try to stay together as a good working group(s).

Unfortuately and becoming more frequently for me, I have become one of
thouse dropped riders. As was for today, along with several of my
companions we were first off the back. We happly continued along thouse
last few km mopping up thouse who had enough of trying to be Eddy
Merchx.

Boy wasn't that sun and tail wind coming home nice!
