You may not like to hear it, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. I know that you are referring to a non-practical type of exclusion (i.e. cliques), and while I agree with you on that level, I cannot agree that the club does not exclude people in any way. Let us use remote starts as an example: According to the April 2002 newsletter, remote starts "allow for destinations that would make the ride too long for most riders if it were to start at Billings Bridge". Here's the problem: I don't have a car. I ride to the start of the ride. This makes remote start rides too long. This hasn't bothered me in the past; I'm used to being unable to do many things due to the fact that I can't afford a car. Last summer, I'd just take the day off on those Sundays; however, if I'd had the option, I would have participated. Personally, I can't think of any practical solution to this problem. The OBC is not perfect; I don't expect it to be. This is my second year as a member of the OBC; I like the club and I believe that it is well-run and offers many valuable opportunities. It certainly makes my summers much more enjoyable.
