Alan Lanoix asked that the following be mailed to the list: I couldn't agree more with your view of the unsuitability of bike paths for large groups of fast riders. I was a participant in last night ride and I can testify there were several near accidents. There were dogs, kids, peoples with toddlers in carriages that were not always aware of our presence. The pace at times was so fast as to be totally unsafe for us and for the others, given the condition of the path. Crossing the Macdonald-Cartier bridge at peak hour on the sidewalk was also very dangerous with a near pile-up because a pedestrian with earphones on didn't hear us.
