Any member of the OBC may submit an event announcement to the Newsletter
Editor for publication in the Spokesperson. As a rule, we identify those
activities which are non-OBC. Sometimes it is obvious they are non-OBC,
such as Almonte Bicycle Club time trials, Tour de Nortel, and Seenite
Crits. I'm sure there are occasions when it is not always so. The
identification of something as non-OBC is to make it clear no OBC
endorsement is implied. Organizers of non-OBC events may not follow the
same practices as the OBC. They are not subject to our policies, and are
not covered by OBC insurance. ABC and Seenite are well supervised and
insured events. They are run by qualified or experienced officials. That
may not be the case with other non-OBC events appearing in the
Spokesperson.
