I will then probably look at some sort of interface in PHP4. Most likely, I
think I will try to emulate the current interfaces, but may not use the
architecture of the Perl code. I'll have to see what I decide to do. Most
likely, the interface will be quite different than the current Obs Playlist
editor. However, this is a big "wait and see" I will most likely do mockups
of the UI's before I develop, so I will notify the list when this starts.

I noticed a similar problem I was having with renaming DB entries, but
found that CleanUp could handle most major issues. I was doing this on the
artist level however, so I am not sure how the album ripping would be
effected, especially during a rip. However, running Cleanup might fix your
problem.

Flying into another tangent: Can obs handle multiple streams? As an
example, lets say I have a playlist of Beatles songs, and a playlist of
random songs. I want to play my Beatles songs on an Icecast mount called
"/beatles", and regular tunes on a "/music" mountpoint. Would I need to
install Obs in multiple locations with multiple configs, or could I do it
all from one process? Not sure how this would effect the RTP stuff, but it
would be very useful in the webcasting side. Just a thought/possible
enhancement request.

I, for one, feel a _need_ for a PHP interface. The machine running obsd
is a 486 w/12MB and the web interface *crawls*. I'm not a big perl fan,
as I'm sure I've spouted many times on the list, but although it works
well enough, I much prefer PHP. PHP4 is not at all a problem.

I have the same thing. I don't remember exactly what I was doing, but I
think I was changing the SortName of the artist ('reggae', maybe) and
they wouldn't get grouped together. This should be a simple SQL fix,
though.

Another feature that would be nice is some sort of album consolidation -
for instance, I had some songs clipped when I was ripping a CD and when
I re-ripped them, I mistyped the album name, renamed the album, but it
still had a different ID so showed up twice.
