Are you sure you're using a multicast address here? Sticking with the
predefined multicast address is probably the best idea.

That's a more realistic error -- are you sure you have multicast support
compiled into your kernel? I've actually seen a nic card say MULTICAST,
without having support for multicast in the kernel.
