Hi All, At ADT Security, all of our servers are synchronised with that of Telkoms time servers.
This means that are times are accurate and consistent. They said they certain times and I had other times. What you need to establish is the difference between the two times to make the necessary adjustments. Where does VS get their time from. Typically I would hope it is from a pc synced to a time server at least once every 24hours or a GPSr which gives very precise times (the satellites it receives data from all have atomic clocks). If they are using there own watches I hope they all sync them before going on duty. I would suggest that we find out from ADT how they synchronize their time - basically making sure they are syncing regular and then nake sure your own time keeping device are synhcronised properly. It should not matter from which source as long as the source is accurate and I am guessing for this purpose a couple of seconds either way is not going to make a difference. Of course if you are in ear shot of the noon day gun you can use old school (Vetas Schola - ha ha!) methods to synchronize your time keepers once a day! Your pc if connected to the internet should be able to update itself automatically as frequently as you require although I am sure once a day would be more than sufficient. What is of real importance is the time differences so that you can measure elapsed time - then it does not matter so much if your times are not sync'ed.
