Yip....like fiddling while Obs burns, huh....
And when 6 year olds *arrive* at school high on Tik it seems the ship is
sinking fairly rapidly.

About a year ago a group of patrollers hounded a Congolese drug dealer out
of the area after he offered Jonathan anything from grass to herion.
He had it all.....no problem.....
He was spotted again not two weeks later (as I recall ?) brazenly hanging
around Scott / Lytton.

We (citizens) are asked repeatedly to work *with* the SAPS and to assist
them.
We are told that they cannot beat crime alone.......that they need help.
I believe a dedicated few Observatory residents have been pretty good at
working with the SAPS.
*What is concerning is that in spite of this there isn't even the feintest
dent where DRUG-RELATED ISSUES are concerned.*

Which seems to beg the question -
Is there a force out there which is bigger than the SAPS ?
Is it that this war against crime CAN'T be dealt with by the SAPS ?
.....even *with *the help of concerned and active citizens.
If not, *why *not ?

Great things have happened in Observatory since the introduction of Vetus
Schola.
I have been very surprised at how folk who have no powers of arrest have
effected so much change in Obs since 15 November 2010.
It has been remarkable !
Leaves me scratching my head somewhat too.....

I have also seen places blaring music after 04h00 in Lower Main Road.
*I thought SHUT-DOWN-TIME WAS 04h00 ???*
***I also frequently **see people drinking on pavements outside pubs in Lwr
Main Rd *(on the Muizenberg side of Trill).
*How is it that these places manage to defy the liquor laws so openly ?
***
There is something rotten going on when one hears that the SAPS are openly
laughed at / jeered at / undermined, when they "raid" or rather "visit" the
offending pubs in Lower Main Road.....

It doesn't bode well either for Observatory or the country as a whole.

It is very disturbing to hear that folk have begun to inject themselves
openly in the streets of Obs in broad daylight.
