Walking along a Lower Main Road at 3am is not reasoanble grounds for
anything but a "Good evening Sir how are you?"

Exactly - there was absolutely no reason

I suspect in this instance they did not as no search took place - but
it took some convincing from my part. I also suspect that if they
request to search you and you submit then that is also ok. The problem
depends on how they convinced you to submit in the first place. These
officers were all fairly pleasant chaps and their was no nastiness
involved from either side. There could have been some completely
different outcomes. Like just 5 minutes before I had a very nasty
interaction with a Metro Police Women because as they cruised through
the stop street with out stopping I pointed to the stop street and
their car as it cruised along.

Just to be clear hear this was finger pointing palm forward indexed
finger extended. She gave me a mouthful and when I muttered an
expletive to myself NOT AT OR TO HER (she was walking away) she then
told me "I like to arrest people like you?" Arrogant and nasty as
hell. The police guys were like my best friends compared to that!

I will indeed. I called yesterday afternoon and it seems I woke him up
as he was on night shift. I have decided to put the incident in
writing - and yes I will do a better job than the 3am after the
incident net report (Thanks Mervyn!) and will wait for him to respond.
I will have the letter dropped of tomorrow.
