I don't know if it's connected in any way - probably not I'm guessing
- but my car was stolen from the corner of Ash Street and Fir sometime
between midnight Saturday, and 15:45 Sunday when we went out to use
it.

Aparna's car had also had the locks damaged, but the funny Fiesta
locks had presumably deterred them. Those doors don't unlock now so
she has to unlock through the boot until they are repaired.

My car is a white Tazz - CA390067 (look for the noughts in middle).
It has some scuff marks on the bumper, steel wheels in front with
aluminium wheels at back. Insured thank goodness. But much better to
see it back.

I have to say that, although the job got done, Woodstock SAPS was a
very disappointing vision of government service. Waiting with no
explanations as to what's going on made all the more frustrating by
seeing various officers in plain view taking it easy (they probably
have every right, but why allow that in front of frustrated members of
the public?), surly, uninterested service when it arrives. People
making very private statements within meters of those sitting
waiting. All in all - and not taking away from the dedicated efforts
of the officers on the street - the whole thing amounted to a classic
third world government office. Not a good show.

Does anyone happen to know if there are cameras looking down Fir? The
big office park is there after all. So I thought maybe.
