Thanks for this thread. It finally inspired me to sign up with Vetus Schola after years of being dissatisfied with the service offered by ADT. Had great satisfaction sending this email to ADT telling them to take a hike. Think it's time other residents did the same.

Our account number is XXX I understand that I need to give you one calendar month's notice so the final date that you will debit funds from my account will be XXX. I have received notification from you that you intend deducting an amount of R193,80 for my radio licence on 1 November. Please do not do this as I would rather arrange this with my new service provider, who charges less for the licence fee and will be coming in on XXX to install my new radio antenna and take over guarding our property. The reason I am cancelling my contract with you is because I have found a service provider who has a dedicated patrol vehicle in our area. They are also willing to charge me about R100 less for monitoring and armed response. In addition they have guaranteed that every time our alarm goes off they will come to our house and jump over our wall, which is about 1.9 metres high, to investigate - something your guards have on numerous occasions been unwilling to do because they complain that the wall is too high. Please can I receive written notification from you that you have noted all the points outlined above. I'd also appreciate it if you can give me a date and time when you will be able to send a technician to our house to retrieve the radio antenna which is the property of ADT.
