Hello Brian and others who have contributed to this discussion... I agree with Rosemary and others, the "other side/Wild Fig side" of the river should definitely be included included in the OBSID area as soon as it possibly can be. This piece of nature right on our doorstep is of great value to the community... (I don't think we realise just how valuable...). The "other' side needs a clean-up (litter) and a bit of a spruceing up too. It looks like the poor step-child in comparison to the landscaped side, closest to Obs. Some bollards (think that's what they're called) would prevent cars/bakkies driving right to the banks of the river to dump, and would also deter the "vrying couples" deep in the bushes..... what about a boardwalk close to the water.... would be a wonderful walk in nature...there are all sorts of other wonderful possibilities for this area.....
