As a Vetus Schola customer, i did notice this trend. Until the beginning of January we used to find at least two slips per day in our post box with the name of the official, time, day of visit and what the situation was written on. I did notice once that they wrote the slip in the car without even checking teh status of teh house. Hwever, I must say I was quite relieved with the diminishing amount of paper that I had to throw away every day and the only slip I found in the last month was for an alarm activation while nobody was at home (false alarm). I certainly don't feel any less safe because I don't see the slips anymore, the question that we should ask is if something has changed in the strategy that Vetus Schola is using in protecting their customers.

At last I can say that every time that our alarm went off in the last month (false alarm), Vetus Schola has promptly called to check, so we are still very happy customers.

When I had Vetus Scholar first put my Alarm in. every day I returned home to find at least four visatation slips in my letterbox.

I then reminded the company that the number of slips in my box without a date on them tells me nothing.

Over the months the visitation slips grew less and less and then nothing.

When I complained to Central Control one afternoon a couple of weeks ago, later that afternoon when I returned home, wow! A visitation slip. That was the last. I then sent an e-mail to Anton Beyleveldt on 18/02, and this also met with no response.

What is going on with Vetus Scholar? Can someone please follow up.
Regards,

Doug.

We're not very far from Lower Wrensch and have seen neither hide nor hair of Vetus Schola on this (lower) side of the line for quite some time. Not even at their erstwhile favourite (and possibly official) meeting spot at the top of Barrington. What about others living in this area - have you seen any VS activity recently?

We had this once before and a complaint was put in, and patrolling was good after that - for a bit.

Hi folks
I am rather getting very worried regarding the amount of emails
reporting crime, such as this one and the others of late.
We can ask VS to improve their rounds and am sure it has been done already.
Believe it or not, Observatory is tying by one crime more than
Woodstock, lower for the second least crime in the Woodstock Precinct.
For a few years Obs has been the worst of the four sectors for crime!
Again this month, by comparing to last year this time, our crime in
Obs is much less. thanks to VS, SAPS and all else.
Salt River's crime is the lowest, and has been so for a long time.
However, many of the perpetrators caught in Observatory is found,
supposedly, to hail from Salt River.
But while we are happily sitting in our homes minding our own business
someone else is running away with it, unnoticed.
Just before reading your email, my thought was, to get out there and
just go and do a patrol. But like all of us, I too say I am too busy
right now. And so, crime goes on unnoticed and unchallenged.
Like noted in an email or two before, we (ONW) will have to gear up
ourselves again and get out there. But on behalf of ONW I say, not
just the few of us as stalwarts, how about Observatory in mass rising up!
Kind regards
James
PS: I just had communication form our SAPS via our ONW radio:
Cons Mark Berry, our SAPS Obs Area Manager doing a bit of night shift,
just arrested someone and busy booking him at the CSC.
So is SW18 our roaming Police vehicle members, also arrested someone
just recently and booking the case now.
Just two nights ago, Mr Koopman form VS busted a drug deal or two via
spot checks and made an important arrest.
Well done to them!

Noticed this afternoon that both the back wheels of a Merc parked in
a driveway in LwR Wrensch Rd was gone. Must have been stolen Firday night?
Can VSchola up their vigilance in this area plse? The perpetrators
clearly do not feel their presence and are smooth about entering and
exciting the area.
