The arrest follows, when police responded to a robbery complaint that was committed at one of the businesses situated in Victoria road Woodstock. According to information received, six men entered the sports bar and pretended to be patrons . One of the men took out a fire-arm, threatened and tied the owner and one patron up with an electrical wire, and forced them into one of the back rooms. The men then removed R15000-00 from the complainant's handbag and R1000-00 from the cash flow register, and fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. Upon arrival at the complaint , we noticed a couple of men running away from the business, in the direction of the main road. During a police pursued, one of the suspects were arrested in a nearby street. Further investigation led the police to a neighboring shop, where the fire-arm used during the robbery , were recovered. We currently following up on all the leads, that can led to the arrest of the outstanding five (5) men , who are still at large. The 28 year old man in custody will appear in the Cape Town magistrates’ court on Monday (2011-06-13) on chargers of Armed Robbery .
