Good morning James.

May I ask what type and make of motor vehicles are being targeted for
batteries?

Do we have an idea of what time this crime is taking place?

I have asked Mr Peacock to check the local scrap dealers as well as battery
retailers to see if they are selling second hand batteries.

It would be helpful if residents could somehow mark their batteries for
later identification. There are a few ways do this.

At a Joints Meeting this morning I noted to SAPS that, as per Frank's
accurate list of reported stolen battery incidents, the trend appears: 1 was
stolen in June; 2 in August; 4 in September; and now 6 in the first half of
October?

The ONW was told at the onset of our ONW patrols three years ago, every time
you walk out of your house or office, consider it as a patrol, observe,
retreat and report, and monitor the situation of crime.

Next best thing to do, Report to SAPS! You may not get your battery etc
back, but helps to get more SAPS staff allocated to the Woodstock Police.

Hi Frank,

It was our house sitter's car, sometime on Sat 8th at night. She has
had her battery stolen in Rondebosch before so it was secured with
special clamps and pad locks - they sawed through the clamps and took
the locks with them.

We are no. 23 Roman Rd.
