58 incidents were reported during January 2012. The majority by residents
to OPS (Obsid Public Security - Vetus Schola) and/or on Google Group, TIA,
SMS'es leading to 12 Arrests Unfortunately a number of people still refuse
to lay charges or even report losses thus encouraging repeat offences.

35% of all crime involved theft out of vehicles including 2 stolen
vehicles. One recovered by OPS and SAPS. Four serious robberies with
aggregated circumstances occurred in Scott Road. ATM Crime is on the
increase, be alert. A concern is vandalism, many cars being smeared with
glue in Dane Road (windows broken) and Irwell Road. Six cars had tyres
punctured around the old dairy building in Willow Road.

Drug arrests as well as club fights besides noise disturbance remains
problems around the strip (LMR between Trill & Bowden Road) and seems to
generate much crime to the main hot spots. However for the first time crime
reduced between LMR, Main, Station and Bowden Roads but an increase is seen
towards the east towards Nuttall Road and beyond even the railway line.

Mondays and Saturdays saw 15 and 13 incidents with the remainder spread
over the week. Most incidents take place during the night 37, mornings 10
and 7 in the afternoon.

Please keep your eyes and ears open and report any suspicious activity to
