I have noticed in the past years that sometimes a drug addict gets hold of a Haven Passport and flashes it around, saying that he sleeps at the haven but needs money for food or clothes or child etc. These drug addicts (I can think of 2 who have done this) are given money by unsuspecting, well meaning people, but obviously use it for drugs and don't sleep at the Haven or get food there at all. Just because someone has a Haven passport, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are using it for the right reasons.
>>> Rosemary Robins <[email protected]> 2012/05/31 01:44 PM >>> Tuesday a very tall, long-haired blond gentleman (with a slight Brit accent) came and requested a Haven passport as he had just been released from hospital and was now homeless. I was somewhat suspicious but gave him the passport. Shortly after attending part of the Social Issues Forum meeting this morning, a very well spoken young (black gentleman from Johannesburg) came to purchase 3 Haven passports. To cut a long story short - it was for the same guy I gave the passport to Tuesday - who still has it in his possession. Please be on alert for the tall blond who is scamming people. He speaks fairly convincingly. Sorry to put out such a negative posting. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Observatory Neighbourhood watch" group.
