Thanks Natalie You perfectly right! The ONW's argument to Obs Square at the time was that, if the extended 8th floor was to approved, it would facilitate accommodation for approx another 60 to 90 odd students, and that would probably be the 'straw that would break the camel's back' re, entertainment, crime, lawlessness, noise, urinating, vomiting etc by more student in or around Observatory CBD. As you noted, more unsuspecting students or residents becoming victims of crime.
Should any large building structure or apartment blocks be allowed to be built they should at least be made to invest into the community by adding something significantly, i.e. recreation amenities, gym, bowling alley, cinema, coffee/tea lounge (no alcohol), schooling initiatives, magazine library, ice cream parlor, donate a security vehicle/team for crime prevention etc etc. Hoping this subject matter is fully relevant to crime related topics and not OCA or Iove Obs subjects.
